Question Adding Cruise Control??

Ok i finally got my speedo working so I want to get my cruise control working. Its a 94 pickup 5speed 4x4 without cruise control at all. I put a 3.4 from a 99 4runner auto 4x4 with cruise control. i got all the wiring from inside the 4runner and also the engine bay and also the cruise control motor thingy.

I have looked on the wiring diagrams for the 3.4 and know i need to wire the stop light switch for sure and then wire in the controls and switches. i dont have the actaul 4runner cruise control controls. I am wondering if i can put in switches and resistors to make a combination switch somewhere on my dash? will the ecu work the cruise control without the automatic or does it need inputs from the transmission sensors? i do have the speedo wired to the ecu and stop/brake switch. do i need anything beside the combination cruise control switch??

IMO, find a rig 89-95 that has cruise control already on it and strip it from that rig. It would be easy to just swap steering wheel covers that have all the controls already on it. My rig came with CC and i did the 5VZ swap and utilized all of my old CC components. I didn't have to do any wiring other then extending the connectors from the driver side to the passenger side which is what you would have to do as well.

If you do end up using a CC system from a 89-95 rig you do not touch the engine harness. All you would be messing with is with the body harness and cruise control ish. You should also get the wiring diagram for the CC system for that exact make/model/year and cross reference that with your existing make/model/year rig.

Seeing as you swapped an auto 5vz into your 5spd rig that would be your best option. Get a CC system from a manual 89-95 rig
