3.4L swap into 2nd gen 4runner

i was thinking about upgrading my 3.0L engine in my 1994 4runner to the 3.4L..... has anyone on here done this? what complications are there? will the stock transmission fit? is the gas mileage any better/worse? any other input would be great

im pretty sure that all you have to do is just put in the new engine and start. everything should plug in and bolt right up.

Moved to Engine Swap Talk in the 3.4L.

Do a search on this swap in this forum specifically and I bet all your answers and then some will be answered.

Neoworm and Breknraj also have excellent info in theirs, then there's mine, but really the only special info there is to make sure you have your headers if you're planning to go that route, and to drill a pilot hole through your hinge to hood connection. If you like the alignment of your hood currently, that is. Most of all, have fun man!

And for a really clean install there is Cadman. There are also articles on pirate and many other sites. Here are some links that may come in handy. Some were mentioned above.
