3.4 wont run

i have a 1993 toyota pickup i hydrolocked 2 3vz so i decided it was time to step up to a 5vz i got the motor in and everything handled but the dang thing wont fire it turns over sounds like maybe one cylinder is firing and than it seems like maybe it fires as the piston is traveling up and causes the motor to shudder and stop turning. i need any guidence any one is willing to give. the only thing that i could think is wrong is that my motor didnt come with any electronics so i bought a set of coils off ebay and 1 of them has a different part number than the other 2 maybe its the wrong one idk?

i would call toyota and verify part numbers or maybe napa, autozone, etc. Start with that first.

my motor is out of a 1996 4runner and it only came with a auto harness. i found a wrecked 98 tacoma on craigslist and bought the ecu and harness from the tacoma. i already had a igniter coils and all the other electronics either on order or already on the truck. tomorrow im going to call Toyota and see what the part numbers are supposed to be for my coils and igniter because i think my timing is wrong.

Seeing as there is a difference in the years, I'm leaning towards that being your problem. Was the 98 a manual or auto?

so you are currently using the harness and ecu that you bought from the tacoma right? From 96-02 it does not matter what year block you have. The most important about a 3.4 swap is that the ecu and harness PRODUCTION DATES match. Otherwise you better have you reading glasses to do some wire tracing and re=pinning

Make sure your igniter is well grounded to the truck and that you're getting fuel.

uhm maf is good its a distributorless motor so how do u check timing and my fuel pump is wired to a switch on my dash and compression is good im buying 3 new coils tomorrow so that will eliminate my coil problem. i think it is the coils cuz i tried turning it over like a hour ago and a puf off blue smoke came from one of the coils and it was kinda hot. and my igniter is well grounded
