I need help with harness / have a 96 t100 truck 5 speed no motor.
Got a motor out of a 97 4runner auto with harness the plugs are
Bigger then the t100 ecu plug slots. I think I'm going to need to
Swap the motor harness. HELP

If you have the 96 T100 harness, I would strongly recommend swapping that over to the 97 4Runner motor. Rumor has it that the T100 harness is a bit longer than the 4Runner/Tacoma harnesses. The harness should swap over without issue, as far as I know, there wasn't much difference (except maybe EGR vs. no EGR) between the 96 and 97 3.4s.

Links Fixed
Have been having problems with one of my ISP's lately which results in my server going down to the public. I have moved the linked PDF documents to a new location and should work again. Let me know if anyone has any problems getting them.

Hoping this info can help themonch update his diagrams and prevent anyone else the trouble I had - on page 7 of the swap wiring pdf it shows a white/red wire pin 9 IE1 as "ABS ECU (not used)"
My harness/ECU came from a 95 T100 3.4 MT 4x4. Going into a 93 3.0 MT 4x4 SR5.
I wired my truck up and didn't have anything running to IE1 pin 9 assuming it was for an ABS ECU that wasn't going to be swapped over from the donor truck, my truck would start just fine but ran very poorly above about ~10% throttle. Threw a code for MAF malfunction, testing pins on the MAF I found I had no +12V to the white/red wire going into the MAF. Thinking this was odd I checked continuity from the White/red wire going to the MAF to pin 9 of IE1 and found <1 ohm, I hooked pin 9 of IE1 to Pin 16 of IH1 (white/red "switched power") and truck ran like it was supposed to.

But his was for an '88 4Runner and a '97 T100. The positions and colors changed throughout the years sometimes even midyear (looking at you 1998). I'm surprised anything worked in your swap if you took that for truth. Monch wrote a disclaimer on the first page of the same PDF you referenced :-)

Yeah, pretty much what vasinvictor said. What I did here was not really for anyone to use as a wiring guideline, but more as a case study of one example. Everyones swap will almost definitely be different.

I didn't expect it to be perfect, especially given the different years of the trucks our engine swaps went into and different style/pin# body plugs, but almost everything else was spot-on for the T100 side of the wiring.

this is awesome information I am swapping a 95t100 3.4 into my 1990 runner. I have been using the 90 thru 95 ewds as I had trouble locating info on earlier models. Everything was close but colors and pinouts a bit differant. This is the only diagram I have found that actually shows the earlier N3/N5 connectors. with this info and the info on the e4 connector I should be wired and ready to drop motor this week thanks Monch you saved my build with this

No S4/ OD connection??
Hey, wondering if you can help out with a little issue we are having with the wiring!Vehicle is an 89 pickup auto 4x4 with 3.0
Donor was 2002 tundra 3.4 2wd auto
ORS says that you want to use a T100 ECU to avoid issue, so that is what we did.
The mechanic did all the wiring, no ORS harness at all.
All wires are connected and everything works except 2 things...below is the message from the mechanic.
"Your model year happens to be a hydraulic controlled t-case, so those two last wires (S4 & ECT PWR) directly connects into the ECU…S4 & PWR for ect is not present on t-100’s ECU so i’m stumped!"
“Notice the schematics shown for the 02 tundra and 96 t-100..
pwr (for ECT) and s4 connections are not present on both ECU’s”
So it drives and shifts fine, but wont go into 4th gear/ OD. AND...I guess the ECT things doesn't work...dont really care about that though.
Photos attached of wiring diagrams for reference.
Any advice...how to get an auto transmission to shift into 4th gear?
