3.4 Swap Wiring Theory (by theMonch)

I have read a whole bunch of threads where people just don't get the wiring and are intimidated by it. I decided to do a write-up of how I came to understand what needed to be done for others in the hope that it might shed some light on the situation.

This first document (PDF) is the charts and diagrams that I made to document my particular swap.

This second document (PDF), my write up is an explaination of the theory of what is involved.

Read the theory document and use the charts and diagrams as a reference.

My swap thread can be found here where I go into more detail of the whole swap overall.

I hope this helps a few people out.

I agree!! Some of the current stickies should be replaced (or added to) by newer, more detailed, and just better threads. This is one of them.

Has any one used this Patch to help out with their wiring a 3.4 in place of the 3.0?
Its a AEM 95-97 T 100 V6 mt extension harness patch #30-2983. check it out on their web site. Looks to have the missing ECM plug ( I think). Theres also other plugs for different engine and trannys.
Does any one think this would make it easer or not.

I guess you could use it as a source for the E4 connector to the ECM if you don't have one, but I would think buying just the connector from Toyota would be cheaper.

Yes , you are right, pretty pricey. I guess it would be another option if you could not get the plugs or just needed longer leads to make it fit.
By the way, your write-ups about wiring are very good and will help out many people who want to do this swap.
THANKS

Just downloaded it and checked it, seems to be OK. Might be the version of Acrobat Reader you are using, I used ver 8 to create it.
