Yep you got it I found a crack in that Y. it was about an inch long and was very thin but it was cracked. ill post picks up tomorrow of it after i had it fixed. So you all might want to check those crossovers again. Especially since ORS isnt around to get knew ones from.
Refresh my memory Brian, was yours ceramic coated or wrapped?

Coated. Coated the brand new one that ORS gave me at discount for the messed up one. I took it knew from ORS in Arvada and drove it down to a guy that does coatings in Colorado Springs and had him coat then brought it back and installed it.

I wouldnt have known there was a problem or anything till later had i not pulled the engine. Crack very small but would have developed into something fairly large.

Crossover was Anchored to the side of the transmission solidly. Only thing i didnt do yet that ORS had recommended was put a 6inch flex in the pipe somewhere just after the Crossover.

Okay heres the picture of the crack after it was TIG'd. You can see the weld just inside the red line over where they ground down the original weld. The visible portion of the crack was from approximately the curve half way to the top of the red line.

Im a little concerned about the missing coating over the new welds. Although I'm going to build a new one for my trail rig and if that works out really well, i will build another and get rid of the ORS one. Im pretty sure the reason for the cracks is the tight bend at the top on the drivers side. it curves very tightly there and then goes straight into the Y. This allows alot of heat build-up. I think there is enough room to make the bend less tight and move the y down possibly. also the bottom of the crossover needs to be moved back towards the firewall more. Its current location is approximately 3 or so inches further forward then the original path of the 3.0. Anyway Ill see what i can come up with. New TIG welder/Plasma Cutter hopefully coming end of the week so hehe time to have some fun.

Well my ORS xover pipe is ceramic coated, anchored to the belllhousing AND I've got a flex joint just after that.

Sooooo, I'll keep an eye on it and post up if it too cracks. I sure hope not.
