I believe that's the only reason to move the battery is to use the stock air filter. Some have left the battery and used a "cold air intake" that's shorter and goes almost to the battery.
Note an air intake is noisy, I wouldn't recommend putting it in the cabin unless the truck is going to be used strictly off road

ive heard it is only noisy when under load. either way. I have a pretty good system plus I don't really mind all that much. it will be a noisy truck anyway

okay im going to start delving into the wiring, and I know the first three plugs are unchanged, plug them straight into the ecu.



Am I correct in that I need to take the pins out of the larger connectors with the lock brackets (cant remember the designation for these)



and repin them with these, the IH1 and IH2 connectors



then what do I do with the fourth ecu plug?
note I deleted the ac, and have manual aisin hubs, so a.d.d. isn't an issue.
this is a 92 runner 4x4 mt receiving a 97 taco 4x4 mt for clarification.
this is my motivation

Essentially yes. I've never just taken the pins from your donor and inserted them into the plugs of the vehicle your swapping to. I usually make a jumper harness in between. You should have both sides of all The plugs you have pictured. Just start matching up functions according to your ewds

I do have all the plugs. I'm just not all that sure of where that would be in the ewd. Would it be on the pages that have theecu on it and the wires leading off it? (You know the one). I hate soldering, but it looks like that's the best way to go. Wait, that's what you mean right? Solder the wires together and make like a long harness with the female II1&2 plugs on one end and the male IH1&2 and the other? I feel so stupid having to ask but I just don't wanna screw it up.

Yes that's how to make a jumper/adapter harness. Just match up the functions. I'd recommend using wire nuts for the connections till you get everything working, THEN solder the connections. Solder then shrink wrap. No sense in soldering everything together to cut it back apart because you tied the wrong ones together.

Awesome. Now I just need to find those functions. I don't remember seeing them in my ewds, I may have to resub to tis and try to find them. Also, I need some small arse wire nuts

Frankly why couldn't I just use the 3.0 plugs on the 3.4 harness? Repin it and plug it straight in?

You can do that. It was easier to make my adapter harness inside in the AC. There is more chance to mess up repinning it.

Search the plug names in Adobe. I used regular blue wire nuts. They are color coded by size if you didn't know.

I didn't. I do flooring, not electronic stuff. Lol. I probably will just go ahead and make a harness. What do you mean in adobe? Do you mean in the end I downloaded?

the pin styles are different. Make an adapter harness. This is the easiest thing to do.

Thanks vital. So should I just take a set of side dikes to the 3.0 harness from the plugs about a foot back?

A foot is probably good so you have some room for mistakes if you have recut some stuff.

Yes, the EWD's can be read with Adobe reader on your computer, others may have a search function also.

Check out the 3.4 swap 101 post I did a long time ago. Video there about using the "find" feature in Acrobat.

I thought gsxrstuntr posted the 3.4 swap 101 thread. Are you talking about the sticky? And I couldn't find wire nuts so I got some good butt connectors, and will solder after I am sure it all works. Will post pics

Okay, so I got another subscription to tis, and have confirmed my plugs as ik1, ik2 from the 3.4, and Ih1 and ih2 from the 3.0, where can I find the wire functions of the 3.4 plugs? I've searched and searched for these specific plugs. Can't find them.
