3.4 Swap Idle issue - P0171 lean condition...

My swap has been done for a couple months and trying to wrap up the last of the little issues that I'm having. My swap was a 94 4runnner auto to a 2000 3.4L with a R150F manual. When I started it for the first time, it ran really well, but later as i drove it more it started to stumble and bog down like crazy. At first I had no CEL. I have a bluetooth adapter and Torque Pro, but was having connectivity issues at first. As I checked sensors and such I figured out that it runs fine everytime I disconnect the battery for a bit and hook it back up.

I drove it enough to get a CEL and checked it with TP. It was P0171. When the CEL is on it barely idles and runs very rich. The ECT, MAF, 1st O2, crank pos sensor, and cam pos sensor, all seem to be fine. Other than running fine after disconnecting the battery, it really acts like a vacuum leak, but I have been over those hosed so many times, I don't think it is. I also check with starting fluid and can't find anything. I've cleaned my IAC valve.

I do have a intake system because I didn't get the stock air box with the motor. I bough a new MAF when I got the intake. I also checked the MAF per the FSM and it is good. I do not have a CAT, so expect that the second O2 may cause CELs, but I didn't think it would cause running issues. I'm going to get a spark plug spacer tongiht, I hear that helps with the 2nd O2.


One more bit of info... with the CEL on yesterday, it was running and I was monitoring AFR, STFT, Timing, and MAF. When it was idling rough, the stft was at -20%, but if I blipped the throttle, it would go to 0% and idle fine. The stft would then start to creap more negative and as it got to about -10 to -12, it was start idling bad again.

I just figured out how to log, so I will log data tonight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm putting in the idea of injectors. This summer has reeked havoc on many members, myself included, with injectors failing after heat soaking.

I wondered about injectors myself... even thought this motor didn't run this summer really. It doesn't make sense though why it's fine after pulling the battery. I hope it's not the ecu...

Logs added

Here are two logs from tonight. Seems like lots of weird things going on. The second log was after engine stalled in log 1. I pulled battery power and then started engine and logging again. Went for another ride and the engine died after idling for a little bit in the barn after ride.

STFT and LTFT seem crazy. Vac is all over the place. Even positive... I didn't know that I had a turbo!

Still having same issue. Thought I had it, but it started acting up again. I found that my evap was stuff was hooked up wrong. After I changed that, it seemed to run great. Drove it about 40 miles round trip to and from work. Went to drive it yesterday and same issue. Fuel trims are all over the place. I did notice that I can make it idle (at 1200 rpm) if I disconnect the iac. It didn't run right though... Won't rev up good.

I can't get % load over about 75 even when it seems like it's running good.
