3.4 Swap Done - 94 4runner/96 Taco 3.4 2wd

I started up my 3.4 swap for the first time on Monday, 2/11/08.

I have a 1994 4runner that had 226k on a 3.0 when the HG failed on 12/16/06. I put in a '96 Tacoma 3.4 2wd. The motor had 98k on it. I used the ORS complete conversion kit. ORS is a great company and they couldn't have been more helpful. Many thanks to Mike and the crew.

I turned the key for the first time a few weeks before that. The ECU was bad, so no go. Very disappointing, at the time. The new (used) ECU resolved the issue. Toy Connection in Santa Clara, CA (Thanks, Jeff) picked up the tab to replace the ECU, even though I was way past their warranty period.

It was a long time coming. It should have cost less. It was well worth it. The power increase is remarkable. Wish me luck at the CARB smog referee on 2/29.

I am part way through polishing up my notes and journal about the experience. I'll write up what issues I had and what I would do different in the near future. I learned a lot, had a bunch of fun, and a lot of aggravation doing it.

I used a K&N FIPK intake system, the ORS crossover, and a 2.5" exhaust. The Cat is a Magnaflow 46006. The muffler is a Magnaflow 12256. Sounds really nice and not too loud.

As of this writing the Innova 3100a OBDII code reader I am using is showing all is good, except the CAT. I am not getting any DTCs. I am told by Magnaflow that it may take 5-15 heat cycles and a few hundred miles for that to clear.

The other issue is that the AC fuse blows as soon as I push the button in. The green light stays on for about 1/2 second, then poof, the fuse blows. Any ideas?
