3.4/A340F swap - shifter console/surround what to use?
I have searched and searched here and on 4x4wire and not been able to find a definitive answer.
What are you guys using for the shifter surround when you do the auto swap? i have a shifter from a 98 4Runner, but obviously the stock console will not fit around it. I have read that some folks use a Tacoma console, others have said a console from a 3rd gen (89-95) auto pickup will work. I looked it up on toyotas microfiche and came up with #5880289118E1 as the tan center console from a 1994 pickup 4x4/auto but i am hesitant to order it in case it doesnt work (its around $75 shipped). Most junkyards seem to want even more that that for a used one. Wanting to retain the stock console between the seats and not swap to a 3rd gen 4runner one if possible.
TL;DR - those with 3.4/A340F swaps, what are you using for the shifter surround/center console?

I used a taco console, 2000 iirc.
I have an 88 pu so I grafted the stock console (about 2") on the front, and put a piece of original console
in the space at the back where there was a gap on the top. The sides matched in the back.
fiberglass and jb weld.
Link in my Sig to see.
