Looks good! I would be sure to test fit it before you get crazy on the welds. My crossover looked good until I dropped it in to see and My connector was hitting my sway bar just barely. Kind of a pain but needed to be fixed.

oh ... and Dave , @ Thorley called me back today .. I asked him about the absence of the flex joint , and he said " it was not needed as the "ball/cups" on the header ends would "flex" enough to accomadate any necessary movement " ..

If your welding is on par with your fit ups I bet this system would pass any smog referee after the ceramic coating.

There is a physical CARB tag on the headers, correct?

Doug Thorley has been in the exhaust/header business long enough to know whether a flex joint is needed for a y-pipe. If this is something you plan to manufacture, I would consider ditching that flex joint and mandrel bending a new cross over section.

Nice work. How does it fit in the rig?

so with a 4th and final "test fit" Joel now has a custom set of headers , now they fit GREAT . I have about 30 hours building these 1 offs .. but I now think I can comfortably build 5Vzfe headers for swaps (NEW product coming)
anyway .. welding done and it's off to ceramic coat tomorrow .
as far as "production headers" Yes .. there will be NO flex joint and all mandrel bent with way fewer welds . hope to get working on the first set of "production headers" real soon
heres pics of the ones I have been building

Heat shield is not welded yet .. will do that after

Wow, that looks really cool! I was gonna say that it looks like the driver side sticks too far out but I see you caught that.

Sweet! count me in for a set if you get going with this.

i had a shop do my DT headers for me (cause it was only $300, waaaay worth it! rusty freakin' bolts...) but they 'had' to chop my crossover pipe in pieces to get it out. Can't really blame 'em although a phone call first woulda been nice...

I will need a good crossover for my 4runner come swap time, looks like you've made it leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else on this.

keep up the good work and keep us all posted

Thanks!

ok .. so .. we're "setting this up"

not sure if this is the correct thread to do this in , but a little "market research" is necessary ? maybe vital22re can help me here , but I'm wanting to see if there would be real interest and actual buyers ?

I have some pieces already built , and have a couple of units already "booked" in my shop for install , but want to know if there is an actual "market" or if there is just a few buyers .. this all determins pricing ..

maybe I spoke to soon ..

I think i'm going to build a few first .. donors , instead of the crossovers I usually build . As I mentioned , I have 2 more installs lined up right away so i'm going to leave it at that

Let us know how it goes. I can't make any commitments right now... but if the price is right I might definitely be interested.

My swap is going down soon. My interest also would be price dependent, but those look legit.

I believe there's a typo in the poll question. I'd like to know the price, too. I'm guessing headers would benefit supercharged guys more than N/A.

This is amazing. Slacker, you do great work buddy. I'll definitely order a set from you once I get my 3.4 swap on the roller.

Looks great, I'm definitely interested in a set!!! One question though, how will these bolt on to the exhaust after the stock downpipe? It looks like it eliminates that pipe, so do they just drop in the same location?

you will need to upgrade the whole exhaust to 2.5"

because the header pipe is 2.5" with the flange for a short down pipe to the cat , then STOCK cat and back from there .

this has a wide band O2 , but this would normally be where the front O2 goes , you would need to either build this , or maybe I will supply this as well ?

in any case , you will need new exhaust

.
