2000 4runner Air Box question

I have an airbox and all the related piping from a 2000 4runner. I would like to use the intake tube and MAF sensor tube for my swap but the air filter housing itself is broken.

I have seen a lot of people just use a cone filter on the end of the stock tubing. I can see how that is easy with the older intakes but on mine the MAF housing tube is integral with the airbox. I can't see any way to remove it from the airbox itself.

Anyone else run into this problem. I've thought about cutting it off but it doesn't look like it will leave much left to mount the cone filter. Thanks.

What is broken? Can it be fixed with a plastic welder?

The runner was involved in a rollover and the lower mounting arm on the box broke off and took a big piece of the box with it. I didn't get the mounting arm with it otherwise I might try to fix it.

So I guess the short answer is no.
