Thank you so much for this information! I'm getting ready to buy my donor engine and harness and I was going to buy a 97 4Runner engine and harness but I'm going to make sure I get the T100 harness instead.

So just to make sure, you're using the T100 ECM and harness with the 4Runner 3.4 right?

Yes. The engine itself is identically the same from each different vehicle. Make sure to check harness part numbers. 82121-34230 (T100 4wd engine wiring harness) OR 82121-34210(T100 2wd engine wiring harness) are good choices. Both were produced 08/1996-08/1997. 2wd or 4wd will NOT matter with the harness and both above part numbers will work great. BUT ECU must be a 4x4 ECU. I went with ECU part number 89661-0W030 (production date 08/1996-12/1996).

I just got my conversion harness and crossover pipe back from toyonly so I will be back at it FINALLY. I wanted to share my costs so far so anyone looking to do this can get an idea of the cost of the swap.

Looks like you are coming along well.Cool swap. I am glad I used a manual trans on my swap (alot less wiring). Another thing you may end up needing is the power steering line mod. That one caught me off gaurd at the end of my swap

I got very fortunate. I found the 99' on craigslist here in OKC, pulled the engine and then re-listed. A guy needed it for the axles and the rear ABS. He didnt even attempt to bargain and I gladly obliged.

The connection on the 3.4 pump is different than the 3.0 the flange is in a different direction and the vaccum advance module and hookup is different. I read a few where guys were taking them from donors and or having them made. I am not sure on the 4runner to 4runner mine was a t100 to 4runner. I used a pipe cutter to cut the end off my 3.0 line from the rack and I cut the one that supplied the 3.4 and used a 10mm compression fitting I ordered from Mcmaster Carr. I put 200 miles on so far without any troubles. Poke around here and you will see some of the other guys solutions. Happy Wheelin

I want to hear more too! I'm setting up to do the same swap with a full running T-100 and my 95 4runner automatic.

I'm doing the same setup, 95 Runner automatic with a donor vehicle of a 96 T100 automatic 2 wheel drive. Would love to hear how this turned out and get a little more info.

I am selling this as it sits. I'm now in Bowling Green, Ky. I will deliver within 50 miles. Asking $1000 for it all. What you have read in here is what is done.

Nope sure didn't. Got it to the point of the engine being ready to drop in. Switched jobs and moved from OKC to Kentucky and just found I have no time to finish it. I'd just rather have wheels and tires for my tundra so someone will get a great deal.

Well dang! I'm in the process myself of doing the swap. Currently just yanking all the old out of my runner and getting the engine bay prepped for when I have an engine. Too bad your so far from oregon.
