What is what on the power steering pump...?
Hello, people, newbie here with a serious issue that I hope you can help me with:
So, with the weekend coming, figured that now would be a good time to take care of alot of put off maintenance issues all at once to get ready for the weekend. Sounds reasonable, right?
So I changed the front pads & rear shoes on my '94 'runner, moved on to the front & rear shocks (I tell ya, I was on a roll, probally thanks to the "RedBull").
Then, feeling a great sense of accomplishment at what all I had managed to, uh, accomplish (probally just the "RedBull" again) , I moved on to the power steering pump, a source of some headaches for awhile now that I had been putting off & putting off until I decided that the various components underneath the pump had endured their being repeatedly bathed in it's fluid long enough & that I needed to do something about it before it caused some serious problems.
The long & short off it is that I managed to get the old pump off, the new pump on (and all shortly after the evening hour) &, by all appearances, bled & filled to capacity...however...I now have little or, at times, no brakes. :cry:
After "searching" the forum prior to my undertaking these upgrades, I returned to it again, but have so far been unable to find the info that I believe (from everything that I've read here) I need to fix the brakes, i.e., of the 4 lines attached to the power steering pump(one to the resevior; one to the valve body[with a "banjo" fitting]; & two to a fitting located on the bottom-side of the valve body) on my '94 'runner, which one is the "return" line 'cause it looks (from what I've read here) like I need to rebleed &/or properly bleed the pump in order to build up the pressure for the brakes to be able to function properly because they are somehow dependent on one another.
Any advice, suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated & T.I.A.

The return line would be the one going into the side of the resevior. The banjo fittings are for the high pressure side. Here is the 93 truck FSM: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...fsm/index.html

Thanks, "mt goat"(seen alot of those while I was in Canada) for the 411 on the "return line" location, I've got my headings set for tomorrow, too dark now.
Unfortunately though, the link does'nt work for me. Everytime I try to open a section, I'm told that I'm "...not authorized to view (it)..." Go figure!

"mt goat"...just checked back on the main page & followed "Rockets" advice (sorta) & took another look at the "repair manuals" I've got & found the damn thing right there in front of me in the "Haynes"...imagine that.
I hope that this will solve the braking problem, but I'll have to wait 'till tomorrow to find out, I'm beat...thanks again.
