A/T Oil Temp and Battery light

Took a 40 mile trip this morning and noticed when I got back out of my meeting and started it up my A/T oil temp light was on and Battery light. Drove it for about 20 miles and it went off. Then about another 5 miles it came back on. I noticed my power dropped a little and my battery guage dropped about 1/8th of an inch. Guage never dropped farther than that and I cleaned my battery posts and wiggled wires but they are still on. Anybody have any solutions?

Just started it up and pulled the positive battery post....and it died. I used this method on older cars before but never on the 4runner. Does the same rule apply? Dies=dead alternator?

Hit up your local autoparts store, e.g., AutoZone, PepBoys, Sears, etc. and they can test everything out for you with it in the car.

the a/t light makes sense though, cause when my alternator goes out the parking break light, and battery light come on. Now i dont even have to get it tested since ive been through it 4 or 5 times.

Yeh thats what they quoted me at advance auto...i'd really want to get one from toyota but i'm tight on money right now so i have to settle for remanufactured crap and hope it lasts for a little while.
