Scratches in clear coat

Scratches in clear coat
Anybody have a way of getting scratches out? In some of more adventurous off road trips I have encounter several tree limbs. The branches have scratched the clear coat but not down to the actual paint. Is there a way a do-it-yourselfer can get these scratches out? Better yet prevent them all together?
