No Power when engine warm (22RE)

Hey guys

I’ve got a problem with my 91 Toyota extended cab 2wd truck
It’s got a 22RE engine in it and a manual 5spd transmission

It starts and drives O.K. when it’s cold but after it warms up it really bogs down until I hit about 2400 RPM. It idles fine and the Check engine light never comes on but it’s got no guts until I hit about 2400rpm.

It only seems to happen once the engine warms up. When the engine is cold it’s fine. ???

Unfortunately I don’t know much about fuel injection so I’m kind of in the dark about this one.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks!

Might want to check out the EGR valve and modulator, TPS: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/TPS/index.shtml and AFM: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/AFM/index.shtml, check the timing, make sure all the vacuum hoses are connected properly and in good shape.

Looks like I finally found the problem with my truck bogging down after it warmed up. Looks like the lame a$$ mechanic who worked on the truck replaced the O2 sensor with the WRONG unit. I got a replacement unit from the wreckers and the two units don't even look alike. On top of that he cut the connecting end off the old O2 and spliced it onto the one so he could swap it in.

Wasn't throwing any ECU codes but WAS reporting a rich condition that made the ECU cut the fuel back and run WAY lean.

How lame is that????

Reminds me of a line from a song I heard a while ago
"you pay for this and they give you that".....

So of course I'm trying to troubleshoot this thing and everytime it comes to checking the O2 I was thinking "no, it can't be that, it's brand new!"

So I think I'm going to start doing all me mech. work myself. At least I know it's done and been done properly!

What a pain in the arse!
