Interior roof light dont work? $150+ to fix!?!?
When i bought my Runner the guy who sold it to me said the light didnt work. I thought, no big deal, just get a new bulb and its fixed. I was wrong.
I replaced the bulb (twice just to be sure), checked fuses, checked the contacts of both the 3-way switch and the bulb location-all looks good. So i took it to an auto electric place and they want $75 just to find out the problem and another $75 "per hour" just to fix it!
Anyone have an idea why it dosent work or something else i could check?

^ All the contacts look good...
qoute:
"See if there is power to the dome light switch. If not, find out why."
Yea, I should have tried that since i dont believe its getting power but if it has no power the only problem is i have no idea how to find out why.
Update: I ended up buying a whole new (used) dome light on eBay so im going to put that in first and hope it works-should have it tomorrow so i'll see....

Something else to point out is that the dome light works based on a chassis ground on one side of the circuit. If the light assembly isn't screwed in to a grounded metal piece, then it won't work. i.e., if it's hanging out of the roof, or if a screw is missing from the unit then it ain't gonna happen.

I put the new (used) dome light in today and it came on!? I couldnt figure out why so i hooked back up my old non-working light and it also came on for the first time! Im not 100% sure, but i believe the wire that connects to the light must have been loose. Either way its now fixed, i have an extra light, and i can see.
Thanks for your guys help! Very appreciated.
