Yep..the dead horse is back..go on beat him. I haven't posted in 6 months! Now I am back at the torch again...I have a 97 Taco..with a 2.7 in it. Its 4WD 5 spd...And I want the 5vz 3.4 in it. Bellhousing the same? Motor mounts? How bout tranny crossmember? The exhaust fairly easy to fab? I know I don't "technically" need the harness and ECU, but it makes it easier! I wonder if I can find the thread where I swapped in a 3. slow in place of my 22re? Yes thats what I did...just cuz I could do it. Anyway I guess thats my only question..motor mounts good? Bellhousing?

00regcab on ttora did it but he swapped EVERYTHING. Mounts need to be moved, bellhousings are different(he just used the trans) and wiring is different.

No, no, no, no, no, and no. Nothing is the same. Nothing will bolt up.

Search. Theres an entire forum on this engine swap.

Yes, you DO need the ECU and harness.

I would vote to keep the 3rz it is a good motor.
On second thought you need a 5vz, just mail me the 3rz it will fit nicely in my 90 4runner

From the swap threads I've read it seems it's more cost effective to just buy a whole wrecked donor vehicle. + You get other things to sell........or keep.

I saw a lot of custom motor mounts.......going to be harder to find a 5 speed/5vzfe combination than the auto....Need oxygen sensors and exhaust and ECU. There is more I know it....

Buy a doner with a cab you like and just swap it. We did 00regcabs in a weekend. If it wasnt for the bed,cab corners(going standard to xtra cab) it would have drivin out in 2 days.

how we did it. this is a bit more then you were asking but standard cab to standard or xtra cab to xtra cab would be cake
