What doner car or truck to use?
I have been reading many different posts on this site and have determined that I want to swap my 3VZE for something else.
The transmission has problems too so I want to replace the entire drive train. The rear end fill nut on my 4runner has been welded and is leaking from the front. I can keep this rear end but will need to drill and tap new fill hole. I know what an engine swap entails and I have all the tools time and experience to do this swap. My question: I have a 1994 Toyota 4Runner 2WD 3VZE engine. What doner car or truck will fit the best? I want fuel injection, a common motor that has a lot of accessories on the market for trickking it up. Any suggestions? Thanks Anthony |

Chevy 4.3 is a good swap, has some decent power too and its simple. Could do toyota 3.4, I6 or lexus V8. Or if you can live with carbed a chevy 305 or 350 is really awesome in power and performance costwise.

I'm half way through a 5.0HO Ford swap and am really liking it so far. The motor is narrower than a chevy 350 or even 4.3. It has a stand alone wiring harness. Do you want to keep your runner 2wd or do you want to go 4x4. if 2wd then a lincoln Mark VII is good you get fuel injection and an Auto that is plenty strong.
good luck and keep us posted.

personal favorties are the 94 k1500 Blazer with the Vortec 350 (thicker cylinder walls than tradional SBC's and is only a 2 bolt so the Moroso 45 degree four bolt main caps can be used, subsatially stronger than the stock parallel four bolt main caps) or any 94+ S10 4.3 X motor (the X has more HP than a W motor and is MPI vs TPI)
