Should I ????89 2wd 22re with only 55,871 miles on it

My oldest boy blew my 22re up, in my 91 yota 4x4..... sooooo heres my dilema... I have come across a 89 2wd 22re with only 55,871 miles on it... very clean truck....i know its hard to believe but i have done some checking and its correct... it was an old man's truck from my home town, who passed away a few years back and the truck has just sat up..... from what i have been told it has been ran some but mainly just parked.... his boy wants $350 for the motor, and a friend can install for $200... what do you guys think... should i, or should i just get a reman.....

DO IT!!!!!!! I've seen 22re's with over 100K going for around $1000, at that price plus installation man that's a steal. I would rather go with an original un-rebuilt engine than a rebuild too.
