well , I guess not.....lol
anyway, I pulled the bolts out of the oil pan and without jacking up the motor and removing the motor mounts, no way to get the pan out of the way to even see the crank journals or rods.
so, with that said, I ordered a complete motor rebuild kit and started removing everything I need to pull the motor.

I've never tried on a Toyota. Sometimes you can unbolt the mounts and jack the engine up enough to pull the pan. Sometimes it is easier with the crankshaft in a certain position.

Either way, once a bearing is spun, the crank needs to be resurfaced. Time to buy/rent/borrow an engine crane.

Ive done it twice (91 truck and a 86 4runner). though i changed them out at the first sign of noise(no knocking, just a slight rattle). if you catch it quick enough it should be fine, but if its knocking, then its more than likely time for a crank grind and some over sized bearings.

YEah you can replace them in the truck its easy but if you have a spun bearing, new bearings wont fix it your crank is probly scored up and needs to be turned and i'm guessing the rod is scored too

yeah, I know....... It was just wishful hinking. and it is knocking after it warms up so I just said screw it and am going to rebuild the whole thing.
I borrowed a motor lift and stand so at least I wont have to do it on the ground.
