89 22re (pickup) in a 88 4runner, intake differences

I'm in the process of swapping a 22re motor from a 1989 pickup into an 88 4Runner, but it looks like the intake is a little different. I'd like to use the entire motor, including the intake, from the 89, if possible, because the intake from the 88 is very dirty and full of carbon, but the 89 is pretty clean. Basically what I need to know is do I have to switch the entire intake manifold, or can I just reroute some of these vacuum hoses? The 88 motor has a "0" code on it and the 89 has a "7" both stickers are right near the air intake if that helps. Also, the 88 has a box with a blue plug and 3 vacuum hoses on it and the 89 does not. Thanks for any and all help.
