should be the same in long block form the only differences would be on the emissions i think and those might be the same as well.

Only emissions would be different, and then all you have to worry about is whether its a Cali or Fed/Canada. Even if its Cali specs, there wont be really any problems. There might be a second O2 sensor, and there will be an EGR temp sensor (my '95 has one and its a fed/can spec) Other than that, they are the same. There might be another one or two emissions things, but I cant remember
