Stock rear locker on 05 Tacoma
warning label says only use under 5mph, Toyota mechanic says lock it when I hit the sand... I only use 4x4 in deep sand on long stretches of beach at speeds of 10-40mph... because of beach, may drive 20 miles in 2wd, 7 miles in 4H, then back to 2wd for another 5 miles, etc. Any opinions, 1st hand knowledge???

The warning is to protect themselves from people driving at 50 miles per hour on icy roads with the rear diff locked. In the sand, drive as you like. play around with it, see what works best for you. You won't damage your truck, driving faster than 5 miles per hour with the diff locked.
