Yes. Except the inflation stuff. You can just leave your tires at stock pressure. I did that for several years before I got CO2.

Actually, I would consider most of the stuff on the recommended list pretty mandatory too. And nothing on that list is very expensive. Look around and you probably have most all of it.

Was that for a specific run, like AZ Rocks or something?

I'd agree with the responses you are getting. Being prepared is what it is all about.

If you don't have the funds for all of it right now, just go as prepared as possible and make sure you wheel with others that can fill in the list.

The team effort approach works pretty well and can save some coin up front.

I carry everything mentioned too in my truck box, cept my shovel broke (stupid old wood shovel). I carry it all b/c it comes in handy, I also carry what sdstud212001 is talking about. I also carry a full change of clothes with 2x each undies and socks, come along, a tarp, every kinda lube and spray one would need out in the field (grease, 5 qt oil, ATF, gear oil, starting fluid, brake fluid, PB blaster, RTV, etc), a small propane torch, a pretty danged good full set of tools and a few spare parts.

Basically I am sure my truck box has 250lbs in it.. Alot of it can be done without but helps, last trip someone broke a birf and we got a replacement from some cruisers but woulda been sunk if I didnt have RTV sealant and some wheel bearing grease plus some tools.

Maybe if you haven't had the misfortune of blowing a tire, then popping your spare on the same trip, as I have. If so, or if you want to keep Murphy from using the "lack-there-of" to your disadvantage, then you'll need something to pump up a patched/plugged tire to get going anywhere. Even if it's the "one-time use" $15 cheapo plug-in-the-lighter-socket "air compressor"/tire pump, BRING IT! AND THE TIRE PATCHES & PLUGS!

Me too. I don't leave home without EVERYTHING I or someone else could possibly need. I actually have 2-3 of many things. Backups for backups, you know what I mean?

Everybody just assumes, as they should, that I've "got one of those in my truck". WHATEVER that happens to be at that given moment.

There's even the odd thing or two I haven't needed yet, BUT I/SOMEBODY WILL EVENTUALLY. I have a sixth sense about these things.

Yeah I have to echo the above posts as well. What on the Mandatory list can't you afford? I mean really, except for the inflation device and tow points, that stuff should be mandatory for every car on the road!!

Chrome don't get you home!

Most of those things are not mandatory or recommended, but essential for anyone who wheels on a regular basis. Unfortunately, there are always those who choose not to fully engage their brains and would endanger and greatly inconvenience those of us who try to, thus you have to have rules and lists of vehicle requirements and things to bring with you.

If you are ill-prepared...do everyone a favor and stay at home.
