trailgear 5" springs

Hey, I just finished SASing my 88 4runner with the v6. I used 5"HD springs in the front and 5" springs in the back. Is it normal for the front to be like 2 inches higher then the back??? It almost looks like the things came pre sagged haha...

Just thought i'd see if anybody else has experienced the same problem?

Only thing i can think of to correct it is take a couple leaves out of the front pack, or block the rear/make longer shackles.. I dont see why i should need to do this though..

Thanks alot guys, ill get some pics on here once i get a comp capable of uploading pics haha.

depends how your shackle angle is set. the HD front springs have a higher spring rate so it will be stiff unless you have a front bumper and a winch, or a v8 engine.

that is why T-G and most people recommend that you install 1" higher lift springs in the rear. I did 4" up front and 5" springs in the rear.

the 5" HD springs are more for heavier v-6's like a 4.3 or a v-8 swap.

x2... i call it the trailgear-cali-rake. i dont know about the hd springs but my standard tg 5in springs were about the same on my runner, rougly 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 in higher in front with no gear in the back but its been like 9 months now and the front has settled so that its pretty close to level, im hopeing that with a front bumper and winch it will really level nicely.

The HD 5" springs are designed for heavier V8s and V6s(like a cast iron Buick V6). Not necessarily the 3.0L. What you have is a 4" pack with an extra leaf added. Pull the leaf below the military wrap leaf and it will be a 4" spring and level out the ride.

I don't know how similar the Trailgear HD springs are to the SuperLift HD's, but mine sagged so bad with my bumper and winch that i had to add 2" shackles to level the truck! (within 2 years of install) I bought 4.5"HD Springs and am ready to replace them. They are to soft, plus i need to move my axle forward to clear my 33s better. Currently, with the springs and shackles, the truck sits with a slight rake when it's empty, but when I load the back with camping gear, it settles to near level.

I've been looking at the TrailGear 5HD's or Marlins to replace mine, but haven't heard much about either. . .
