Thanks guys. The front cross-member is bolted in and ready to have link mounts welded to it. If my lower rear link hadn't dropped off the jack stand on to my pinky knuckle last night, I would have finished the rear. Almost done in time to present the project and graduate....geesh

Got the front almost done yesterday. The two lower links are in tentatively as well as the upper link. Need to adjust the angle of the lower frame side brackets to prevent binding of the heims at full droop. Panhard is going to be bent(preferably) or cut and welded to achieve the angle I need to avoid the upper link mount.

Progress is a little slow with my last two finals today!!!!!!!!!
some pics prolly tomorrow or tonight.

Here are the pics as promised, a little late, but I'm finally done with grad and got the coil-overs in and the front pretty much done. I have a clearance issue between the high steer arm and the bottom coil retainer. without further a due

Thanks man, almost done final welding the coil hoops, have to move the steering shaft to get to the back of the pipes and on the other side. Going to mock the coilovers in there with the springs for z and giggles.

YEAH! She's sitting on her own weight right now, the front is just about where I wanted. Unfortunately, I screwed up the rear upper links, got the geometry wrong so the rear is just sitting with the lowers right now. Will get some pics here in a minute.

Okay, So I am having a nightmare of a time trying to get the front brakes figured out. I have ordered rotors from a FJ60, FJ62, FJ80 and the closest to fitting the IFS calipers is the FJ60 rotors from an '87. ARGH!!!!

I don't get why these rotors don't quite work with the IFS hub on the solid axle spindle. I have to position the caliper on the outside of the two mounting tabs for the caliper instead of on the inside so the bolt can thread into the two tabs on the outer knuckle.
btw- I know about the TG ones, I'm trying to save some money....

Any help is much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys

Dude! JB! How the hell did I not see this thread earlier?? I thought that shop/rig looked familiar! I think I even saw Rob's arm in one of those shots! I read through the whole thread and your work is great! We need to have a more detailed chat about my 3.4 swap sometime; as soon as I finish my summer classes next week I'm gonna get rippin' on that thing. Also, we need to go hit some trails in your sick "new" rig! Your truck is so sexy. It was actually what inspired me to get my truck. I've got a ways to go before it looks like yours though! Anyway, nice work. Keep it up, bro!

Thanks man, she's almost done. Finished the proportioning valve, and lines in the rear today, which wraps up the rear. Just need to do the gas tank, pump, bumpstops, and brakes in the front and we are wheeling my man...

Got any more pics of how the rear links tie into the frame?

Also why did you choose that location for the rear shocks? I guess you aren't concerned about them hitting anything?

Just curious, what kind of spring rate do those coilovers have?

I'm a total noob to SAS just looking around at stuff. This is quite a project.

I still have to gusset the upper rear link mounts to the frame as well as fab a skid for the lower link mounts. I will get some pics when I can.

The shocks are close, but that is where I needed them to be for the foot long travel remote reservoirs to stretch their legs....I doubt anything will hit them, but we'll see.

I went with 300 lbs/in for the main spring and 200 lbs/in for the tender coils. The tender coil eats up a lot of the weight, because I went with a 75% droop on 12" travel shocks. 3" up and 9" down for travel at ride height, which is only about 2.5-3" above stock w/ 33's.

I know a lot of people don't like to cut their floor, but you CLEARLY have the fab skills...

SO I know its been way too long, but I finished the gas tank, the fuel pump, the proportioning valve, and the front rotor issue....

Didn't know you can't use the IFS hubs and use the FJ60 rotors...I'm wetoddid...

Anyhow, tried to start the truck last night, and it sputtered a few times and now my plugs are completely soaked again.... I need to figure out this ridiculous overly rich issue. Either way this truck is very close to being driven, just finishing up the last stuffs, which brings me to more pictures, shortly.

Finally got that thing running today, it was tedious but worth it when she fired up and roared nicely... I'm going to finish bleeding the brakes tomorrow and work on the front bumpstops, before I get some flex shots...

So no flex shots today. Got everything torqued, re-bled the brakes and the clutch is giving me the same issue of just not enough travel that it will drag and not go into gear.

Getting closer.... Hopefully tomorrow I can finish the front bumper, box in the rear frame-side UCA brackets and epoxy my mirror back on.
enough ranting...
