Question shackle angle with no weight?

I've read that with the V6 you need to mount the front hanger forward ¾" to aid in shackle angle. I have no weight on my frame (engine/transmission is out, and the cab will be off soon). Should I tack weld the brackets, then after the truck is put together, weld everything? Right now I have a bare frame and wanted to get all the welding done at one time.

if you have a v6 i would definately put the hanger 3/4 forward from the frame. here is what my shackle angle looks like on my 4runner with the hanger 3/4 forward after about a weeks worth of driving so it should still settle some

Thanks. Have you noticed if the shackle contacts the body mount at all?

Touching the body mounts is not always a bad thing......some prefer the lazier angle for ride quality

You can always just trim the mounts or run banana shackles
