Do only enough lift to not interfere with the tires your going to use. I would go with a minimum of 3 inches, so you can run a crossover steering setup. You already have the box just buy the kit.

Honestly it sounds like SAS is not a good option for you. Instead look at traction devices, limited slip or locker, a mild lift. You can do all this for less than a SAS. I like to wheel and do well with a locked IFS. Besides IFS has more front clearance than SAS.

i would lock the rear end and see how wheelin is like with that before throwing the money into an SAS.

Yes, pretty easy to fit 33's:
- http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...it.shtml#FAQ10 The re-gear for the larger tires (4.88 or 5.29) and put a locker of some sort in the rear and you are good to go.

Yeah, luckily i'm not bias toward a side. Like i said, i just want to have a capable rig, and figured maybe SAS would make a better platform for wheelin. Locker in the rear ixed with my new trxus MT's should make it a good runner with IFS, but just kinda interested in SA.
Im the guy that spends 200 bucks to try a new cam combo in my race car, only to try a new one 2 months later. I love to wrench and tincker with stuff. thats why i figured id give it a shot. |

I say go for it. I just picked up a matching set of axles out of an 81. With two sets of rear leafs for 300.
I am going to pretty much fabricate and make my own kit. Buy my own Grade 8 Bolts. Get a U bolt flip kit, Hysteer, And start mocking up the axle under my 4runner. I am going to leave the stock gears in it for now, the third members are easy to pull and re-gear. I am going to rebuild them of course and put lockers front and rear. You should build your truck to what you need to get the job done. Whatever that might be. If you like to tinker then this will be fun. That is why i am doing it. I am bored. Obviosly, i just wrote a book.
