SAS questions
Hey I was wondering if having the engine out while doing the SAS will make it easier than doing it with the engine in?
Thanks |

Would not make much of a difference. In fact it would make it harder to get your front spring hanger set because you want the weight of the rig on the springs to check the shackle angle.

IT would be a little easier to move around under there...thats about it....
I would hang your springs (and move your steering box if you are doing that) then drop the engine in and check your shackle angles/front hangar placement

Why bother with shackles?
Just weld the springs directly to the frame. Put on 18" blocks and weld all of it to the axle. Best SAS ever.
