Considering a SAS, a few Q's

Well, long story short, I am going to be doing a frame swap later this summer, and I will be purchasing a used frame this coming weekend. I want to prep the frame and make it like new before swapping on the body. then I got to thinking, wouldn't this be a prime opportunity to do a SAS?

Anyways, my few questions:

How much will it run me for a decent set-up, axle not included?
Any way I can keep the stock ride height? At max maybe 1" of lift?
Best places to buy what I need?
What about the drive train? do I need a new front drive shaft?
and where can I get a SFA and how much will it set me back?
any other suggestions?

answers appreciated!

well i would look local for an axle.. junkyard...
i got my fj-62 axle with diff for 200 but i had to pick it up in the runner!!!
for a quialty s.a.s kit its about 1200 just for all the parts.. but unless your pretty good its best to get the kit... you can go stock height but then you miss out on the best part of a s.a.s the high steer.. so i beilve the smalest is a 3 inch spring but if you have a v6 and aftermarket bumper plus winch youll need higher springs...

lots of reading to be done by you.. this is a project and you need to tackle it as one... just like a frame swap your gonna be a busy and po boy like myself!

well, thats the thing. I've done a lot of reading, but I have yet, not saying its not on here, to find a SAS that maintained a stock ride height. I don't really need a fancy set-up, I am just seeing this as an opportunity to upgrade for a little more flex. I wanna go over the washouts in the mountains without having to pick a perfect line.

well if you want to a do a stock conversion buy a old straight axle truck and frame and use that??
the reason people lift a s.a.s is so they dont need to pick a line as you said so they have mad flex... not gonna get that stock

well, I want the little bit extra flex I can gain by it, as I don't need much more, but I hate to mess with the IFS. and then I can upgrade it later down the road if I want..
