JGrund85's 1991 4Runner Build-Up Thread
So here are the pictures of the brand new paint before it went to Scott at Addicted Offroad in Windsor, CO. Scott is doing the SAS, Detroit Lockers front and rear, 5.29 gears, trail gear lift front and rear, putting a new gas tank in, adding a 1st gen roll bar, Sliders, and possible doing a V8 Lexus swap (we will see how much money I have.) I will probably need a new motor as the old one is about to take a crap on me. I will post the link to the build once Scott posts it on colorado4x4.org
Anyway the Pictures of the new paint.

It was supposed to be Flat olive drab. It turned out a little less flat than I had visioned, but I still really like it. It's PPG Specialty Colors Airforce Olive Drab. I just can't wait till the SAS is done.

sweet I'm glad to hear scott does good work! He seems like a really cool guy! All the work I've seen that he has done has been awesome. I'm so pumped to get this thing on the trails. I haven't had my 4runner for almost a month now. I really miss it. I have been driving a 95 ford escort. It isn't nearly as fun as the runner. I'm still waiting for his post.

It's starting to look good...scott has all the IFS cut off and was mounting the front shackle mount when I stopped by. He said he would have the build thread up tonight by 7pm. Will post as soon as it is up.

The wheels got painted black...just waiting till I get the money to buy new tires. This thing is gonna be big! I have been over to see it and it's gonna be huge. with that being said, It is gonna be goofy with the 33x9.50's. Anybody interested in a set of almost new 33x9.50's BFG all terrains with wheels mounted and balanced? I have 4 with bfgs and another one with a 31x10.50 tire for a spare for sale. Make me an offer, I need to get rid of them so I can buy tires. anyway heres pics of the progress, It should be finished either tonight or tommorow afternoon.
Sorry for the big pictures.
Whats everyone think?

gravel-guard
Nice bumper too.
Did you just spray over the chrome ?
Which color is it (I know it's black ...) Any special type of pain
Mine is starting to rust and was thinking about blackening the bumper with gravel-guard or something "rubbery".

yeah i'm not sure what type of black it is...the shop just painted it a flat black from ppg. I'm not sure whether they flattened it themselves or if this is just flat black from ppg.
It is a first gen roll bar. I think scott is regretting his willingness to do it. He said it was extremely difficult to get it in, and once he got it in, he realized it's too tall. He has to shorten it and then weld it in i think.
Well of course things always never go to plan, so I don't get it back until tomorrow night now at the earliest, and then it still has to go back into the shop to get the front dif installed (once it arrives from utah on tues), get the gas tank replaced, and even possibly the sliders depending on how much he gets done tomorrow.
It kinda sucks cus I need something to get myself to work during the rest of the weekend.
