Yerp

After lurking around for a while learning, I went ahead and posted a couple questions. I inherited a 1994 2wd X-cab, 72,xxx miles with the 22re 4 banger, sold my raced-out 1987 Volkswagen GTi and am trying to make the conversion to a pickup. So far, the only mods I've done are cutting a big hole in the airbox and adding a leaf to lose the saggy butt. The problem is, I want the truck to perform like a Rallye car. I am pretty handy with a wrench (learned on the GTi) and understand the basics of making more power: more air in, more air out. I have an exhaust sytem selected but if anyone has tips on how to make the pickup handle better on and off road, let me know! FYI, when I say offroad I mean dirt roads, not rock climbing! Tire and wheel combinations for above mentioned applications would be helpful too. Thanks for reading and see you around,
Jacob

Welcome, your truck will never handle like a rally car. Good wider tires, performance shocks, performance sway bars, and new springs should help it handle better.

I don't know why Paul said that... Welcome and enjoy!!! with proper weight distrubition you truck will handle better than a car.... check out the tech sections of the age of your truck... Christ you see them low riders and such out of 4x2's but you do need to find you a great 4X4 once you have had it you won't want to go back....By the way I used to grab plenty of tickets in a truck just like yours!!!TJ
