Wiring Harness up in flames.

So I went out to start my 95 4runner 3.slow 4x4 AT and it would not fire up. Then white smoke started coming out from under my hood. I popped the hood and found that my entire wire harness from the fuse box on the left side to the intake on the right side was glowing red and burning up all the plastic and rubber around it. My question is if I pull a wire harness out of a junk truck do I need to pull one with the exact same specs as my truck I.E. Auto, 4x4, power windows and all that jazz???? And is it even worth trying to fix? Or is this going to be an ongoing issue?
