yeah just like that haha. Those headers look sweet man! Dunno what to tell you about the reed valve though. Perhaps a long pair of needle nose pliers would help get that bolt going?

Sorry I havent kept up very well.

Yes the mirrors are off of a 4 runner. I am hoping to transplant the power stuff from the 4 runner to these doors, and maybe convert the window to a solid single window from a 92 truck that a friend is parting out.

I actually have 1.5 inch Bj spacers from 4 crawler on there. I am still playing with the T bars for final height. The Chevy springs seem to give me around 4.5 inches of rear lift, I was only expecting 3". I even cut a 1 inch deep section out of the frame for the front hanger to help lower the rear, but it did not help enough.

1.5 inch bj spacers, and some T bar cranking. The ride is a little more stiff with the 1 inch added by cranking the T bars but the height is much better, and it is still much better than before the BJ spacers. I am very happy with the ride and drive right now. Now I just need to get the idler and Pittman arms fixed so I can get an alignment and then my 33 10.50 BFG KM2's

before

after

New update, after a month long hiatus. I finally sold my old front and rear thirds so I can - $300 from my running total. But I bought new seats. literally brand new from a sequoia that is being converted into a limop at a local limo shop. Appearantly they have like 8 sets. I have been looking for seats for 6 months and just down the road sat 8 brand new sets of seats for well cheap. I'll post up pictures after the weekend when I get them installed.

I also sent off my idler arm to custom machining usa for new bronze bushings only to find out it was too pitted and would still be loose. they got me a new one locally and rebushed it with bronze. Hopefully it will be here by monday.

any way totals
new H4 conversions with 55/100 super white bulbs Ebay .......................................$43.00

new bucket seats from sequoia...................$50.00

sold front and rear thirds..........................-$300.00

new idler arm with bronze bushings .............$160.00
total............................................. ........$3441.00......
90 hours

I am going to install them this weekend. They are the middle and third row seats. The middle row is two buckets and a center jump seat. They are three separate seats, so I don't know if the middle one will fit or even be mountable, but I am sure the 2 buckets will fit just fine.

I haven't taken any pictures as of yet, but you could go to Springfield Mo Craigslist and search for Toyota seats. They should come up in a parts only search. She posted pictures of the seats I bought in the add. I don't know what other colors they have. The set 2 rows, is $100. I plan on using the second row mounted on a box in my office as extra seating. These are very nice and brand new. They pull them out when they do the custom limo stuff. I guess they leave the front seats in since that is for the limo driver.

I will try to get these installed this weekend and Ill post up pics. thanks

I'm still follwing this write up. You are doing a great job on that rig. I like the running totals, it really keeps things in perspective.

thanks, I would not have thought going in it would even approach $4k but things change when you get in there. Mostly priorities change. I started off with the intentions of a cheap daily driver, then it morphed into a toy. Oh well typical.

here are a couple of pictures of the seats.

unfortunately they are too tall. I'll have to fabricate some new bases in order to lower them. right now my head touches the roof. Yes I did try giving the floor board a massage with a 5 lb sledge. That leveled the seat out but still 3 to 4 inches too tall. I think I can weld on a low profile base made of 1.5 inch square tube 1/8 in think and make them work. they are very comfortable other than being too tall.

I took the back off of them and made some adjustments to the seat structure in an attempt to make them fit better, but that didnt resolve the ride height problem.

sold the sand blaster today........................-$150.00
running total............................................$ 3291.00

Put the new idler arm with new bronze bushings in, the steering seems improved, but I havent had it on the highway yet. That is where the steering got sloppy. I still need to replace the pittman arm then I can get it aligned. Maybe get new BFG KM2's in a month or 2 if they ever go on sale. Last sale was September.

well sadly I could not get the sequoia seats to work. I have changed all the wheel bearings front and rear, as well as the rear inner and outer axle seals. I also changed out the front axle seals. THe truck rides and drives much better. these are both fairly easy repairs that I highly recommend if your miles are getting up there. I replaced the brake rotors on the front at the same time, and all in all the parts ran about $200 from a local parts store.
I have been tracking my fuel mileage since all the repairs and so far the headers and exhaust dont seem to have helped in that reguard much if any. That being said the exhaust smells very rich. I suspect this is because of some alterations during the exhaust mods. I intend to temporarily remove the O2 sensor and reset the computer and see if that helps keep the the engine from enriching the fuel mixture. If it dose, I'll attempt to address the exhaust mods that may have caused this. If it works I suspect I can gain 2 to 3 mpg.
I doubt if I will end up converting to propane. I will probably be selling the truck soon. I have decided to start a new project, and I think it will take up too much time for me to continue with this project.
Thanks for your interest. I am sorry to have failed to complete this project. I will say even though this project was a lot more expensive than I anticipated, I feel very proud that I have aquired the skills to do these repairs. I can go forward with the confidence to purchase used automobiles and not feel concerned that I am buying someone elses problems. Because Now I am capable of repairing it myself. Thanks to all my brothers on yotatech that gave me help and encouragement. Have spent countless hours scouring this site for intel.

Well brothers, I sold the yota Sunday 6/14/09. I got $3k for it so all is not lost. I replaced it with a 2006 Dodge megacab 3/4 ton with the cummins. this thing is a beast, room or 5 full grown men with gear, and gets better mileage than the yota to boot. I am a little sorry that I never converted the yota over to propane as that was my original intention, but all is good. I might just put an MSD propane injection kit on the dodge, supposed to be good for a 20 to 30% increase in mileage??? We will see. I know one thing though, I will be able to haul all the livestock I need to behind this bad boy. i drove my van to pick it up, and on the way back pulled the van on a 4 wheel car hauler. I could not even tell it was back ther, averaged 17 mpg hand calculated too.
here are a few pic's

Thanks for following
