New member checking in with '86 w/22RTE wanting to hybrid turbo (PacNW)

Hi Guys,

I want to show you my "Toybo" project. OEM 22RTE engine with CT20 turbo.

I'm mostly into Datsun Z-cars, but I love the Yota trucks too!!

The only real issue so far is that I need to replace the valve guide seals(?) since it blows oil out of the exhaust.

Right now, there no heater core action and no washer fluid (that should be easy to fix once it gets above freezing and not so brutal out there...

I would also like to replace the rubber shifter boot since it is torn, and some other odds and ends...is there a catalog that specializes in 80's Yotas?

Anyway, sorry for all the noob questions. Time to search, I really appreciate all I've read in the forums so far.

Here are some pics / info!!

Later, -hughdogz

================================================== =

Mods already done:

* PowerTRAX rear diff locker unit
* 11.5" wide 15" Enkei's with BFG 33" x 12" tires
* Bushwacker Flares
* Lifted with upgraded dampers
* Heavy-duty rear bumper with tow ball
* Brush guard

This RTE has seen some miles!

CT20...I think the wastegate actuator is the size of my thumb!

I need to do something about small-ish turbo size, so I got a hold of this exhaust manifold with a T3 flange:

I know it's not a Steed(?)sport, but this is my first try. ;o)

It needed porting:

The brakes were terrible when I got it, so I got new pads, rotors and rebuilt Toyota 4-piston S12-8 calipers...

Replaced the idler arm:

BEEF!!

I was able to pass DEQ by installing a new catalytic converter. Max Hyrdocarbon is 200 and it got 14! Max COx was ~14% and it got 0.14% or something crazy like that.

Future mods:

* T3 turbo with .48 A/R turbine (it should spool around 1750 RPM for good low-end torque!)
* Front mount intercooler
* Either Wolf or SDS EMS

That's about it for now...
