I love the cummins, great motor, but unfortunately, it was a diamond wrapped in a turd. The dodge really isnt what its cracked up to be, ive owned 3. at least not the new ones, not sure bout the 12v. I had 36 or 37,000 miles on it when i sold it. two passenger side mirrors, had to have the computer reflashed twice, tranny was a POS, and the turn signals, hazard lights were goin crazy. They would go off by themselves, opposite one would turn on, sometimes not at all. I was actually drivin home with the k9 in the back and went to switch lanes during rush hour traffic in the rain, put on my left signal, switched lanes then had a semi truck up my ass and honkin the horn, the right signal indicator went off. I had it at that point. i didnt pay new truck prices to have issues like the ones i was experiencing. and besides....ford hasnt taken money from the govt. like chebby and dodge/fiat so im stickin with bringin money back home. as for the yota, absolutely love it, just miss the pickup bed, ima need one comin big buck season

Welcome to Yotatech.
I heard the 6.0 and 6.4 Powerstrokes are total piles. I haven't heard anything bad about the 7.3 though.

The 7.3s were the best. the 6.0s are okay and solid motors but you will need to get aftermarket head studs and gaskets. to keep it dependable you will need to get an emissions delete kit. I know many people who get the 6.0s and leave it stock that have had head issues and i know just as many who leave it stock and have no issues. the 6.4 is a great motor but you will need to get rid of the emissions crap. a 6.4 will the emissions crap gone and a basic programmer and intake/exhaust is nasty!!! all of my dodges were autos, and i will try my hardest to make sure my next is a manual. i like being able to control the rpms and motor and power, i dont trust autos, too many issues. |
