New Guy

Hello all. Great site you guys got goin here, looks really great. Quick rundown, I'm simply a 16 year old new driver with a used 1990 FJ62 Landcruiser with a good 140K miles on it, who also has no off-roading experience and doesn't necessarily want any anytime soon (too young) Anyway, nice site again, hope to ask and answer a few questions and have a good time!

Welcome to the forum.
I really dig the FJ62s.
Post some pictures when you can.

We have a member/vendor here who's wife had a very nice FJ62.
I think they sold it, but here is the page.
http://www.sonoransteel.com/cruiser.html

It might give you some ideas.

I saw their site before, what they did to that was really cool. Mine is the same color as theirs, too. It looks exactly the same as theirs did when they began. My father bought the truck in 1991 with only 200 miles on it for about 1/2 the sticker price. [Funny story] This man wanted to surprise his wife with a nice 4x4 for her birthday, so he bought the Landcruiser and drove it out 100 miles (the only dealer he could find that had the truck exactly the way he thought she would like was ~100 miles away) to surprise her. He gives her the keys, shows her the truck, and says "Oh...honey, I wanted a 4Runner." (Spoiled lady...) So the husband drove it back to the dealer 100 miles away and traded it in, and my dad found it, and got the salesman down to half price (he knew the guy personally anyway) and here I am now, 18 years later with it. [/Funny Story] It's been very dependable but has since fallen apart and is now used as a to and from school truck, though I would like the replace the faltering original engine with a V8 or something larger than stock. I live in a rather steep, hilly area and would like something with a bit more "umph" and a smoother suspension. So, there's your random, useless story for today.
