new to 4runners

hello,
well i just bought a 95 4runner and i'm finding out it's kind of rare. it's an sr5 with a 4cyl 5sp. 4wd. the only problem is the tranny is shot.it was run dry on gear oil.

so i'll be hanging out in the WTB section for a while. if anybody has a good g58 shoot me a PM.

my other rides are a 91 mr2 and a 95 landcruiser. i can hardly fit a set of golf clubs in the 2 and the LC only gets 13 mpg,so you see my dilema.

thanks for having me on this website, mike

Welcome!

Check out Marlin Cralwer for rebuild kits and trannys for that runner you have.

IF you find one from craigslist or similar for cheap Marlin sells good rebuild kits. Rebuilding that tranny would require, snap ring pliers, a press, magnet, and a few other misc tools. Its easier than one thinks to do

Welcome!

i guess it's the full time 4wd. not sure what year toyota went with that, but earlier models probably did better on gas.

so i'm looking into marlin crawlers. i think i may get a clutch kit from them. it comes with all the stuff you need. i've found some used g58s, but i would sure hate to do this twice.

i rebuilt a transfer case on an 82 fj60. it only took 4 months.i think i'll leave it to the pros on this one.
