Keep them off my A$$
Hello ya'll. ( I figured I'd use proper Texacan )
I've made a few posts and then I noticed this thread so please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mark and I live in Awesome TX. ( Austin fer them outsiders ) In another lifetime I had an 85 X-Cab PU with 22R, solid front axle, and 31x10.5's. Not much on the mods other than the stereo that would stop your heart. If you can imagine 2 12" DVC CV's directly behind each seat running at 1/2 Ohm load. So after about a year and a half search I found a 89 T4R in Austin in decent shape for a slightly high price but what the heck It's the truck I have wanted since I lost my 85. She's a 89 22RE 198,000 miles and still kickin. I have named her Gina after my favorite female fighter Gina Carano. Not many mods but she is sportin 31x10.5's and a wicked lifter tap. LOL Crank it up until you can build it up. Biggest problem is I can't keep people off her tail. She's been rear ended twice the last time did the most metal damage and forced me to put her up until I could get her fixed. Well that time is now, just completed the body work ( Damn tailgate looks great, the rest of the truck, ehhh OK. ) So she's an inspection short of getting back on the road. I bought a used Denali while I was fixing her up and realized that the seats in her were in dire need of an upgrade. Found some seats in great condition from an 96 Civic just need to work out the mounting height and she'll be a rockin and rollin soon enough. Next up is A$$ Armor. The next Fool that hits me from behind is going to suffer a fate worse than death!!! Love the site love the contrubutions and tech advice and when is that calander coming out?? I'll upload some pics later. Peace, Kramy!! |

Great looking runner... to bad about your 85 but remember in a lesser vehicle you would not have survived...
as for the valve tap you might try a product called "Engine Restorer" it comes in a Silver/Black can. It claims to swell old seals and help fill in scores on pistons and so on... I used it in my 94 which had a wicked valve tap and it quited right down, I used it for 2 successive oil changes and now about every 3rd one. It seemed to bring up the power a little [I did'nt have to get so far into it to maintain hwy speed] and it quited everything right down. Used it in my old 87 22r about twice before I had to sell her with similar results. Just an idea... Aviator

Take a close look at the driver side door. You can see my arm and shoulder imprint just above what used to be the arm rest. Also look at how far ajar the door is from the cab. I still to this day do not know how that door did not open. As far as the motor I did a full tune up when I bought her and it helped. She suffers from a loss of power at the top end and I bought her with the full intention of having to do a re-build on the motor. ( Slight knock on hard acceleration ) I have been running full synthetic and that has helped, I bought the Lucas racing oil additive but have not put it in yet. A buddy of mine swears by this in his race truck. I am really trying to figure out what to do in the bumper area I want something cool and clean, but I want something that is going to do more damage to the dumbass that hits me instead of my girl. I have gotten some great ideas for this site. I love this place. Just wish my wife would let me spend what I think I need to on her. ( The truck, not my wife. ) |

That's easy just spend equal amts. on both and all should be cool.
There are a lot of great rear bumper designs here from our fab guys and companies some will really do some damage to a fool trying to rear end you.
