00 prerunner in eastern IA
hey gang, ive lurked on this site for a while but just now started becoming public. but just the fact i drive a prerunner will probably keep me a reader for the most part as ive read many articles describing the prerunner as a neutered 2wd model. i know there are prerunner's out there with lsd's and e lockers but mine possesses neither nor do i have the funds. the other sad fact is IA doesn't (at least not anymore)have any real mud holes or trails to run (least not any that i know of). i'd love to get my hands on a first gen 4wd pickup, but iowa salts the heck out of the roads, so they are few and far between. so for the time being i just toss three or four sandbags in the bed and drive very carefully in the snow. last winter was the first year of owning the truck in snow and had me considering selling it off until the snow started receding. i've upgraded to general grabber at2's and love them, even though some of the other members curse their name. this winter will be the decider on whether i stick it out with the mall crawler. i'd be interested in meeting members in the cedar rapids or iowa city areas, if there are any. thanks, all!
