Over the weekend I met up with the Northern Ca. Xterra Club and we did Strawberry Creek Trail near Tahoe. There was my 4Runner, 2 lightly modified Xs (ARB bumpers, winch, and 2-3 inch lift, and LSD rear) and a built Cruiser.

We all did pretty well (read no damage), there were 2 major obstacles on the trail. The first one was a rocky section in a small stream. This made for slick, muddy tires. After a little stacking we all made it through without problems. Actually, the cruiser had the most problems, but he was admittedly showing off.

The second obstacle was painted rock. The yellow X went through first and after some stacking we got him through without a winch pull. Then the cruiser went through, intentionally kissing the rock with the rear bumper.

Then it was my turn. My front, left tire just wouldn't get up the other rock, so after much rock stacking I just opted for the winch. Time for a locker.

The silver X's climb was the most exciting as he got the closest to the rock. Two inches separated his sheetmetal from the doghouse. After some repositioning we got him up too, without a winch pull.

After that the trail smoothed out to a rough dirt road all the way to Caples Lake.
