Where are some good beginner off roading trails in the bay area?

Has anyone been to Hollister? How is that place?

havent been there was planning on doing a trip i tried Carnigy(i think thats how its spelt) which was kinda boring but couple good stuff to test out new equipment

Its not in the bay area but just north of Fort Bragg is the lost coast highway, with camping at Usal beach. Good beginner trail, we had a great time.
