What's your thoughts?

i think the 22mile trip out of red bluff sounds good

ok so I am gonna make a decision here I guess so we are all on the same page.
The trip will start in Red Bluff at 8.00am Saturday may 30th. I think we should all probably meet at the gas station there to top off (I'll find the name out this weekend). here is the map of the drive.
http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=...~0~0&encType=1
the area between point B and D are pretty rough areas but if it gets to rough you can turn around and go back to B and up to the Ponderosa Way. D is going to be the camp spot saturday night and it is a nice little drive over to hwy 36 and back down into Red Bluff. Expect a lot of loose rock and from my info a lot of ruts. There is not a lot of large rock crawlin but the Peligreen Jeep Trail has some hard spots. Also an easy way around if you get spooked. There are a lot of Small road for those that want to get side hilly and yes Mill Creek is a short drive from the camp spot... I may go part way up before and get some images from the road before it gets rough so you can see some of it.

I am sure you don"t have to be told but bring your tents, food & drinks, and what ever else you may want. This is NOT a designated campground, but my family has camped here during deer season year after year. if my calculations are right and everything goes well, we should be in camp around 4-5 so there will still be time to fish, BS, or keep finding new roads. Kids, Wives or Girlfriends, Dogs (as long as they behave themselves lol) are always welcome. I would love to say ok you bring this or that for some kinda potluck dinner Saturday night but in reality it is usually easier to just bring what you wanna eat (I know guys that just carry MRE's all the time.) Most of all and I am sure I don't have to say this, but if someone gets into a bad spot and needs help, be prepared to give it.

Now all I need since I didn't start this thread the right way is a list of all that are going to go. PM me with your response and I will post all the people that ARE going ahead of time.

I'd bring the crock-pot but I don't it would hold in its contents up Hogsback.

I was thinkin the same thing LOL. I had thought about sealing it closed and just turning it on once i was in camp. I have a little ac plug in deal that would work to heat it but man if the seal came undone..... what a mess

I am thrilled that so many are interested in this trip. I was reading above and seen someone was stuck at the moment in 2wd. your still welcome to come. I learned today that there are 3 ways into the area 1 is almost like a freeway (gravel road some pot holes) 2 has lots of potholes and some ruts, kinda slow going> and the third which i learned today and probably the way we will go is alot more challenging.

for the fishermen, all ways cross antelope creek and we will also be camped about 15-20 minutes from Mill creek, which is full of planted and native trout. smart fish though!!!
