Marlin Crawler Round up #7
Calendar: Public

Registration ends Aug 15th for this event. You must pre register with Marlin before attending. http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=45939.0 This is by far my favorite run of the year. If you want a challenging trail and to see nicely built Toyotas for as far as the eye can see this is the event for you. I'll be at Rubicon Springs Saturday afternoon. Because of time constraints this year I am only going to run the short part of the trail and go from the Tahoe side. Is anybody interested in going? Remember this is the Rubicon and it's no joke of a trail. Stockers need not apply.

I'll look for you guys. For anyone else registration is now closed but you can still come if you pay for your camping spot when you get there. You will also not get a dinner ticket or a grand prize raffle ticket.

I'm coming down Cadillac on Sat morning to the Springs.

UKmeyers did you go last year? What was it like coming out of the springs sunday morning, is it a traffic jam or does it go pretty smooth?

Last year Cadillac hill was backed up all the way to the springs by 10am. Mostly that was due to 3 broken trucks being winched up it though. Also a guy had his transfer case linkage come apart at the last climb and he went over the hill backwards. He hit the ONLY tree in his path about 30 feet over the hill. Had that tree not been there it would have been tragic. That recovery took an hour. Once we got up the first part of the hill it was smooth sailing after that.

Nice Pics!

I've been wondering the same thing about Cadillac and getting out in general.

I'm registered and looking forward to seeing you gentlemen at Rubicon Springs!

This weekend should be interesting. It's only my first time across the Rubicon. lol I CAN't WAIT!!!!

My buddy & I will be going in at Loon Lake late Friday afternoon, camping when we see fit and then wheeling into the springs Saturday morning.

See y'all there.

That works. My buddies and I are planning on running in from Loon Lake Friday Morning. I think we are going all the way to Rubicon Springs. But I'm not positive.

Only a few days to go. Be sure and look for my white 2nd Gen Runner on 37's. I'll be running around somewhere checking out rigs. I'm going down Cadillac Sat morning so hopefully I'll be at the springs fairly early providing everything goes well. You guys have a safe trip in. Grant 526 remember to pace yourself. Your looking at 12 hours of HARD wheeling between Friday and Sat. Take your time, pick good lines, and get your rig to the springs in one piece.

Thank You UKMyers. I'll keep my eye open for you. As my rig is relatively untested and has not been trail ridden much. I plan to take it nice and easy. I'm hoping to make it through unscathed. But I know that there is always the possibility of damage. Thus, I just built and installed sliders.

UKMyers, I see your location says your originally from North Idaho. Do you mind if I ask where? My step-father is from Salmon.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the trail!
Grant

We will prolly be going in mid-late afternoon, half day at work ya know. Would be nicer for your fist trip if you could do it in in two days. By the time you hit Old Sluice you might be mentally/physically tired and that wont be good
Either way have a good trip and I'll see you at camp.
