Absolutely. In fact I will likely have a few kites with me in case the conditions are favorable at our lunch break. We will probably have lunch on top of Haller Pass, so there is a big, open area that gets some consistant wind off the mountain.
What did you get and what seems to be the problem?

Cant remember the name off the top of my head. The guy at the kite shop said it was a good beginner kite.
I think the problem is the two strings that you hold are attached to the kite too far towards the top of the kite. It feels like i'm not getting enough air into the kite. In other words.... I can't get it up

hahhahahah Well, they say admitting that is the first step toward curing it.
![]() When you get a chance, try to chase down what kind of kite it is and I will bring something similar so we can compare the bridles. Take a look at the kite bag link on my kite site at http://www.slimer.com/Kites/ and tell me if you see anything remotely similar to what you have. Bridle adjustment can be a pain in the rear.

It took me about 10 seconds to find those. Plus it's one of my favorite movies and that scene is like no other, so it was easy to figure out what you were talking about.

This is as suitable to a "stock-as-they-came truck" as they come. If I have to put it in 4x4, it will be due to some unforseeable circumstance such as snow or the like. Otherwise it's a milk run.
I can't speak for the Oregon folks. But there's no reason YOU couldn't put one toegether

i'd love to meet some people in oregon, but it's hard to be the motivator when you don't know what you're doing or where you're going

Hey Rob, just noticed something. Is this 9/18 as listed on your RSVP system or 10/18 as the title of this thread implies? Just checking as 10/18 is a Monday after all... Let me know, if the thread is wrong which I believe is the case I'll fix it for you.

Thanks Shane. The RSVP is correct. It's 9/18 a week and a half a way. I had several runs with several groups on my plate the day I started this thread and they all ran together. If you could correct the thread title, I would be indebted.

Rob, back around '89 a guy I knew at Boeing in one of the shops I supported was really into stunt kites.
He told me to go to downtown Seattle to a kiteshop by the Farmers Market. I am sure you know the store. He told me to get a Trlby brand which I did. Just Googled them, and see Ebay has 'em. http://stores.ebay.com/Trlby-Kites Mine is a pretty good one, but needs the bridle worked on, and I have not flown it for almost 10 years. I will dig it out and see if I can fix it, but not sure if you have enough room in your rig so I can bring it along. I would take a pic of it now to show you what model it is, but I am afraid dust would be flying all over, and I just vacced and dusted my whole place. It has not moved in ages, and is coved in dust right now. It is the type I think where you can join several of them together. I was living in West Seattle at the time after my divorce, and I would hit up Alki Beach after work and fly it down there for a few hours. Good wind down there for it, and the babe gawking was great too

On top of that the damn Runner won't start, and you said I couldn't take the GF's Oldsmobile, so I wouldn't have had a vehicle either. Wish it would have been in Oct. like I originally thought from the thread title, I may have made that. Next time I guess.
