(CO) Ft Collins Wheeling Trip

I was thinking it would be cool to head up north and try a trail up in Ft Collins, if folks round here are interested. Thinking August 6th. Also thinking of Moody Hill or Kelly flats. I was thinking of Moody hill over kelly flats soley because kelly flats is like 30 or so miles in from Ft. Collins, and Moody hill is much closer, like about 4 or so, i think.

Since you're from ft collins, are there any safeway's with gas stations up there? If so, that's where we should meet, so i can get cheap gas.

I'd say run Crystal mtn. after Moody. Moody isn't that long. And there a good chance we'll be up for it.

Okay, trail is set to Moody Hill continuing on to Crystal mountain. We still need a place to meet in Ft Collins, so I'll work on that.

IKE,

I've set this trail run up a few times in the past - and meeting in Ft. Collins is pretty much out of the way for anyone coming from the south. I suggest we meet in Masonville at the little shop. Ft. Collin people can meet us there or at the Moody Trail head which has a dirt pulloff right by the start of the trail. Just my .02 Here the thread I started last year - might be useful to you.

Okay, Masonville it is. So, where should we meet in masonville, since i've never been there? Also, i'd like to meet at like 9-10 am, because i've got to get back down to boulder by early evening, round 5 ish.

Sorry about the Safeway info Ike, work web access is keeping me from responding in a timely fashion. We're pretty slim on the safeway coverage up here. Sounds like it's been resolved though. I can meet in masonville.
I too would prefer as early as possible a gathering since I've got family coming into town later that day.

Okay, so, now that this is only a week away, we still need a location in masonville to meet at. An easy landmark would be great for anyone who's been there. Also, i know i started this, but it'd be great if we could get someone else to lead, since i have no idea where i'm going. once we figure that out, i'll post up with exact information on time/who/cbchannel...etc...

We're in!!!! And we don't mind leading- since we've done it before. As far as a meeting place- it depends on all whos' going. I think for the Ft. collins folkes - it's out of your way to meet in masonville (need confirmation on this) - and if no one else chimes in from the south - we don't need to meet in masonville either. We could just meet at the trail head. Hmm. We can finalize it this week.

Any FT. Collins people in touch with Ziad? Maybe he would want to come. And I'm sure he knows the best route from Ft. Fun.

John

No. For the rockier parts where you might get close to needing sliders there are bypasses. You will be fine. It would be nice to meet you Crux. Travis (Outllaw27 - and my neigbor) just was over here commenting on how much he enjoyed your company at the meet and greet.

I ran it withouth sliders last year with 2" bl and 2" suspension, there was one part where it was close but with the right line you should have no problem in your runner. You got enough lift to not have to worry about it.
