I could really use some of y'all's expertise...

We are planning a small trip to Telluride for the 4th of July weekend (busy time, I know). I've never been there and I'm having a tough time finding information on off-road camping around the area.

Does anyone have any experience with that area that could point me towards some great camp spots? Or at least some areas around there that have some potential camping...

And, is it just crazy to attempt Imogene Pass that weekend because of traffic?

Thanks a ton in advance!

Camping is going to be pretty hard to come by that weekend. In the Telluride area there is a camp site at Alta Lakes that you may be lucky enough to find a spot. You may also look at the east side of Ophir pass. Imogene was still being worked on last I checked. They removed the snow, but then they ran into mud slide problems. Good luck and have fun.
