OK so me and a friend decided to take a camping trip to the apostle islands this winter and was wondering if anyone has ever drove on the ice from one island to another with their 4runners i was planning on driving right up to the islands and do some exploring/camping on the ones i could get access to with the 4runner does this sound like a good idea?

Hey, I know this thread is old and dead, but did you ever go on that trip? I just moved into the Milwaukee area from Montana and I'm dying to find some good camping and 4x4 trails. I'd drive 5 hours for a good trail.

Any chance you could throw a dirty man a bone and point me towards some good exploring? I can almost guarantee any special spots you throw my way won't be spread around....it seems my upstate NY sense of humor isn't conducive to making friends here in the Midwest...despite having married one of you people (wife's from Viroqua, WI).
